For Those Looking To Travel Out Of Dubai

If you’re a Dubai resident looking to travel out of the country, you’re permitted to do so by the government. For pleasure or business, you’re allowed to leave the country.

However, you’re expected to meet the travel and entry requirements of your chosen destination. The entry requirement into the US, for instance, is a little bit different from the one in the UK. You need to look up these requirements from the country’s official website and take note of the things you are expected to do or have with you.

It is also important to note that while you don’t need special permission to leave the country, you are required to get authorized permission to get into Dubai from your chosen destination. The needed approval is from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) through her official website here

Note that you’re to do this before booking your flight to Dubai. If you’re traveling for more than a month, you can fill up the application from abroad.

Below are other guidelines to follow when you do return to Dubai from your trip.

    covid-19 stamp
    • Must possess a COVID-19 negative certificate. A Covid Test is mandatory before traveling back to the Emirate. Come along with a Covid-19 negative certificate issued within 96 hours before your departure to Dubai.
    • You may undergo another COVID-19 test during arrival. If you’re a Dubai resident traveling back to the country from countries outside the EU, you may undergo another COVID-19 test when you arrive. This is just a precautionary measure in place to curtail the possible spread of the novel global pandemic. So, you shouldn’t feel surprised.

    • Download and register on the Al Hosn tracing app. This point is straightforward. You need to simply, download and register on this app call Al Hosn.
    • Fill a health declaration form. Filling out a Heath Declaration form is mandatory. You can process this at the medical facility closest to you.
    • International health insurance document. Make sure you have a good international health insurance plan prior to your arrival. So, it is important that you process and pack it along with the usual travel documents before departure to the emirate.
    • Thermal screening. As with all arrivals the world over, you will be subject to a thermal screening on arrival, and if there’s any suspected case of COVID-19 on the flight, everyone will have to undergo testing. If a tourist tests positive to the virus, they will self-isolate at a medical facility that has been provided by the government for 2 weeks. Having the said that, the medical expenses need to be borne by the tourist themselves.
    • COVID-19 Preventive Measures. The government of Dubai tasks everyone in the Emirate to maintain physical distancing, properly wash and sanitize your hands, and always put on a face mask when you’re out.
